The Artists Rest Workshop has been in existence since 1991 in one form or another. From Garden Design to Furniture making to Artistic endeavours of all makes and media.

In 2009 I built over the remains of the original barn shed and dedicated the Workshop to Artistic endeavour. In keeping with my roots as someone who values the recycling of objects rather than contribute to more waste, the workshop was made almost entirely of recycled materials, down to the foundations!

Collaborating with local company https://techrete.com/ we recycled some 600 tonnes of wood from their operations site, and built almost the entire Workshop from it, along with a small storage shed and with enough left over to heat the Workshop (and my house) for quite some time in an efficient and renewable manner.

We have hosted a raft of visitors over the years, and have made everything from recycled and found Art, to Mosaics and sculpture.

I am most proud of this achievement!

Have a quick look below at the building of the workshop..
