On The Altar Of The Arts 2025

(Curated by Rony Sidon and Martin Hughes)

This years theme is  “All is one: Reflections on Identity”.

This years theme is a reflection on the 2024 exhibition:

The 2024 exhibition, showcased a dynamic blend of artists, bridging varied artistic practices and cultural backgrounds. This blend not only reflected the diversity of artistic expression but also acted as a nurturing ground (pépinière) for all the artists.

By presenting both emerging and established artists, the exhibition created meaningful connections and emphasised the unique perspectives each artist brings based on their individual journeys and cultural influences.

All of the artists, regardless of who or at what point in their career they were, came together as one equal group, promoting and supporting each other as artists.

This reflected the very essence of The Artists Rest Workshop. Inclusion, equality, fairness for all.

“On the Altar of the Arts” 2025

Continuing this approach for 2025 – showcasing artists at different stages in their careers- will again foster collaboration and enrich the viewer’s experience. Creating an environment where artistic dialogue thrives, enabling artists to learn from one another and audiences to engage more deeply.

We want each Artist, to respond to the concept, producing a visual representation of their investigation of the theme, giving a no holds barred exploration of the multifaceted nature of identity—how it is shaped by culture, personal experiences, and societal influences. The aim is to create an exhibition where diverse perspectives on identity can be shared, understood, and celebrated.
