Kevin O’Sullivan

I am a 61 year old active father of two living in Skerries for the last 25 years. I have worked with Aer Lingus since 1979, originally as a mechanic and now as a pilot. Outside of work I have kept myself busy through sports mostly on the water. I enjoy using my hands whether creating something or involved in a dynamic activity.

My long held interest in sketching led my wife to gifting me a token to formal (?) Art classes in Skerries over ten years ago. Since then I have enjoyed the tutelage of Irma Mullaney, Roddy Moynihan and in recent years, Dave West. My medium has been oils, pencil and more recently charcoal and chalk, oftentimes on wood.

My preferred work is portraiture, promoted by my wife’s discovery she had breast cancer back in 2007 which led to me creating my first piece of her. I am fascinated by people, and by extension, their faces. I particularly enjoy creativity and am drawn towards new ideas in whatever arena I am in.

I can be contacted via Facebook Messenger.
